I've been wanting a AJAX forum for some time.
I'll do it on Olympus if I can find enough time.
I'm thinking something like GMail except replacing the e-mail with threads.
No page reloading as you browse the forums.

Re: ajax?
In fact if AJAX was used in the way you said above it wouldnt.. I believe AJAX has its place, this place is in speeding up form processing and searching come to mind off the top of my head, but I dont think a forum would benefit from having everything AJAXed up.Cheater512 wrote: Relax. It would still work.

There is a trick to allow the back/forward buttons to still work.Yawnster wrote: In fact if AJAX was used in the way you said above it wouldnt.. Moving the template system in to Javascript and only transfering the post and user data would make a massive difference to speed.
Plus it has a really cool "WOW!" factor.

A "trick", to just simply get something to work to it's NORMAL expectation.Cheater512 wrote:There is a trick to allow the back/forward buttons to still work.Yawnster wrote: In fact if AJAX was used in the way you said above it wouldnt.. Great design.
(No, seriously... think about that. WOW Factor is not greater than useability)
