anonymous cvs access (read-only, of course)

Post by arod-1 »

i may miss something here, but i couldnt find the anonymous cvs access info.
i found the snapshot page, but is there an anonymous cvs server (like the one in sourceforge for 1.x/2.0)?
if there is (i did search) pray tell the user@server and password, and if there is no anonymous read-only cvs access, is it PC to ask why?

I don't think phpbb has public cvs access to where ever they keep phpBB 2.0.X series.

That's the right repository, I guess you looked at like posting.php and saw a banch log. Just don't look at the branch commits.

100% sure it's the right repository. :-)
Download it an you'll see, or view it's source (not the branch). you'll see
@package phpBB3

Actually the CVS repository contains both versions, you just have to configure your client to pull the correct code branch.

However let me make one thing clear - CVS code is unsupported in any way, whether for 2.0.x or 2.1

yeah, i figured as much.
using the "-r" command line switch to pull a branch can hardly be called "configure your client" ;) .
what threw me off, apart from the obviouus, ie, the fact that the repository is named phpBB2, is the fact that there were few commits in the last couple weeks, (almost) all by a single developer (acydburn) and even those seem to be mostly minor fixes... naturally, i assumed this is the stable version.
i see now the error of my ways. :(
