Differences between here and CVS

Post by liquid_eagle »

Is there a difference between the version that's here, and the version we can get from CVS snapshots? Or is the CVS just a bit behind?

my reason thinking that is, the cvs version doesn't have the karma thing or the good/bad post rating, but this version does.(and has had so for two days now)

The Karma thing is just psoTFX playing around. This is generally behind the CVS version but at times things are done here but not put into CVS.

Will karma be committed to CVS soon? It seems strange that psoTFX would test on a live board even though the develpers no doubt have their own internal test boards.
fun, sigs work!!!

No, it won't be committed in the very near future. It's here because I want to see it working on a "real" board with "real" users.

It seems to work pretty well.

Will it make it to the final release? It could be a nice feature and it's already done!

Seeing the first reactions I think the chances of it being in the final version are very, very high. But as psoTFX already noted, the feature wil evolve a lot, this is just the first test drive.

i think there will be some protection built-in, or as you say, some evil users will keep rating every post they see as bad.
