Wondering why that MOD you have won't install correctly? Let's take a look

The constants.php file is in your includes folder...

Creating text Links for phpBB files

First create a duplicate of the phpBB file on your PC, then rename the file by adding .txt to the end of the file name. Next upload the file to a location on your FTP Server accessible to the public and provide a link back here for us to analyze it...

The path to your file could look something like this now:

Code: Select all

http://yourdomain.com/downloads_folder/constants.php.txt

The constants.php file is located in your forum's includes folder. You cannot provide a link to the constants.php file because it will try to "run" instead of download. So to make it so that I can download and look at it, you need to make a copy of the file and rename it constants.php.txt. Zarath seemed to think that your problem is in your constants.php file, so once I can download and look at it, I should be able to determine if that is the case...

Without an includes folder, your forum would not work. What is the path to your board in your browser? In that folder, you should see the admin, cache, db, images, includes, language, and templates folders. Once you click on the includes folder in your FTP application, you would see the constants.php file...

There is nothing wrong with your constants.php file. Can you check to see if the phpbb_user_items table exists in your database???

The phpbb_user_items table is not a file. It is a table in your database and cannot be found on your FTP Server. You can look in phpMyAdmin to see if the table is there...

I'm sure that every host is different. The following may or may not be similar to what you have...

Log into your domain Control Panel and find the database icons. You should be able to find the phpMyAdmin icon. Click on it...

Image

Hopefully that will log you into your phpAdmin panel. You may need to provide a username and password...

In the phpMyAdmin panel, click on the Databases hyperlink...

Image

Hopefully that should take you where you can select your database. You may only have one. Select your database hyperlink...

Image

That should open up the display of all the tables in your database.

Hopefully my instructions above are close to what you would see on your domain. If not, perhaps you could provide some screenshots of what you have available and we can figure out what you need to do. I use Gadwin Printscreen to create the screenshots and www.ImageShack.us to host them so they can be posted here...
