ftp problem with localhost,

DO NOT give out any FTP passwords to anyone! There is no reason to do so! If you need help badly enough, create a temporary FTP account that is restricted to only the files that you need help with and give the information for that. Giving out FTP information can be very dangerous!

ftp problem with localhost,

hi i understand that i have to edit the local host in the admin,easymod,function.php but im unsure what i am supposed to put in there, my server is modwest.com and my address "thing" is oldenglish , website http://cornishunderground.oldenglish.com root to file /phpp/forum/phpbb2/ thanx in advance

You put in the name of your server...

For example, if your server name is my.lame.server you would change the instance of localhost to my.lame.server

Then yes, put that in where localhost appears.

FTP path to phpBB2:

i have loads of folders where about do i start linking it from?

That's your directory where phpBB2 sits...

for example...

my phpBB2 folder is /home/msmith/phpBB2...

So the ftp path is simply /phpBB2 since when you ftp in, you're already at the root of your login directory.
