DO NOT give out any FTP passwords to anyone! There is no reason to do so! If you need help badly enough, create a temporary FTP account that is restricted to only the files that you need help with and give the information for that. Giving out FTP information can be very dangerous!

Re: ftp problem with localhost,
You put in the name of your server...trubass wrote:hi i understand that i have to edit the local host in the admin, easymod, function.php but im unsure what i am supposed to put in there, my server is modwest.com and my address "thing" is oldenglish , website http://cornishunderground.oldenglish.com" target="_blank root to file /phpp/forum/phpbb2/ thanx in advance

For example, if your server name is my.lame.server you would change the instance of localhost to my.lame.server

Re: ftp problem with localhost,
That's your directory where phpBB2 sits...trubass wrote:ok ideal cheers, dont like to sound a newb but where do i start this

for example...
my phpBB2 folder is /home/msmith/phpBB2...
So the ftp path is simply /phpBB2 since when you ftp in, you're already at the root of your login directory.
Re: ftp problem with localhost,
i see, so for me it will be, /hotdcs/cornishunderground/php/forum/phpbb
