[RFC] Show New Topic Button on Viewtopic

Post by MichaelC »

I propose that the New Topic button should be shown for relative forum inside the topic next to the Post Reply Button.

This would stop the user having to go back into the forum using breadcrumbs and then clicking on new topic.

Even when posting this topic that feature would have been of use and I find that very often I wish this feature exists.

Just as a side note, subSilver and subsilver2 have this.

And therefore, any style author should be able to add it to any other style.
Above message may contain errors in grammar, spelling or wrongly chosen words. This is because I'm not a native speaker. My apologies in advance.

I don't think its necessary to have a post new topic button on view topic. A style edit, or you can go as far as an option in the ACP. Also, from what i read, Subsilver2 will not be included in 3.1 so it wont be in 3.2.

What I mean is include it by default in prosilver.

From an aesteic view adding this to prosilver looks horrible unless we adopt a drop downapproch similar to other forums it doesn't fit in the theme to have more than one button

Sorry, but I disagree with this.

The reason for removing it, as I understand it, was that too many people would click the New Topic button instead of New Reply when viewing a topic so they would start a new topic with their reply. Yes, it would be nice to have both buttons if people were more observant, but they aren't.
