This can vary both due to browser differences and to server differences.

The server sends headers which indicate what the browser should do with the page for caching, but it's up to the browser what it actually does.

I think we have two good solutions proposed here: max_images = 1 if a dimensional restriction is applied That's not a solution. That's a fudged workaround and a stupid one at that.
