Re: [RFC] Contact Page
What about protecting the e-mail address with an image (just an image, not a captcha.) This would eliminate the possibility to copy the address to the clipboard. Or what would you type if you encounter a picture with an ambiguous font typing of Ill______O0@rnmwvvw.net (in another font type: Ill____...

Re: I am changing the post title
There is an unexpected benefit of counters - duplicate content becomes somewhat easier to spot (if same words are used in title)...it doesn't help with intentional abuse, but if as a user I am creating a topic [RFC] Human Readable URLs and I see that the URL created is phpbb.com/community/topic/rfc...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Switch to PHP timezone handling
It's not that we need to actually pre-select the right time zone - the whole list could be filtered, so only time zones show up which are +/- 2 or 3 hours of the current local time. Because there is no rule that daylight saving is always 1 hour delta.

Re: Anyone ported Bad Behavior?
a message to contact me, in case they think they've been blocked incorrectly. So far nobody has contacted me Never ever take that as an indicator. People are either too lazy to go on or they're fed up with it already or they just don't know computers that well to understand it or they're not unders...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Switch to PHP timezone handling
Like a filter? Sounds good to me. The default value for that could be done with JS also, so most of the times users don't even have to enter a value at all. But they still have to submit it to actually reduce the selection.teikjoon wrote:greatly cut down) which time zone they are in

...not to mention that a spell check would have be maintained in every single language. Plus: what about multilingual boards? No, spell checking must either be done by the browser or a book (oldschool).

Re: xenforo, new forum software, great source for ideas
If phpBB is going to be squarely targettted at being the highest-security forum software, then naturally some usability features would not be implemented. I'd always chose this over everything else. And I know how valuable phpBB 3.0.9 is because I do understand the code and see how much effort and ...

Re: [RFC] Show New Topic Button on Viewtopic
The reason for removing it, as I understand it, was that too many people would click the New Topic button instead of New Reply when viewing a topic so they would start a new topic with their reply. Yes, it would be nice to have both buttons if people were more observant, but they aren't. Good objec...
