Any chance of getting this functionality in 3.2?
Not the slightest chance, no.

Re: Google Ads enforces EU cookie legislation and demands we notify the visitor

What we could do easily is what Spotify does on their website, which i'm not quite sure is actually satisfies the legal requirements, however, i don't see how we could implement this any better for custom BBCodes for example (if you have a youtube video on the page, or even an image from another web...

Re: Google Ads enforces EU cookie legislation and demands we notify the visitor

I think the EU law doesn't require us to do this, as the cookies the core places are required to be able to use the board (session id, etc). I think it is not required to ask for consent in case of those cookies, and also it is not even smart to do so. Providing an API for doing that is fine, if any...

Re: Google Ads enforces EU cookie legislation and demands we notify the visitor

Integrating Google Ads is not a core feature AFAIK, and if I understand correctly, the cookie notifications are only required when a site sets cookies for third-parties (that make it possible to track users). Although, the law is not consistant through out the EU, as the EU only has a directive, and...

Re: PHPBB3-14000 - Add support for emoji

But how do you enter them? I don't see an Emoji panel on the posting page. (That might be a cool idea, if it's not too difficult.) And isn't another difference that Emoji (at least "official" ones) are controlled by the Unicode board? Steve Emojis are entered through mobile device keyboar...

phpBB diff engine

There is an on going discussion about replacing/revamping the diff engine we use in the core, although that was mostly just me speaking to people about it, so IMO it would be great if we could collect the existing pros and cons at one spot, making it easier to decide on what to do. The things that a...

Re: Several Built in features to consider deeply

No no, don't have to include everyone one of them. What team decides that's it. I also believe as a built in feature it would have no issues while extensions are going through countless of editions and versions. For instance, show topic in who is online; enable or disable? Simple. Autolocking and o...

5. It is useful, and very useful. You may want to crossreference the IPS for possible linked accounts, ban evasion and constant spam and toxicity against the community. Link this one with the point 2 and you get one good system for moderators to handle these issue. And guess what, all beauty in it ...

Re: Asset management

It is my suggestion to not to commit compiled code. So back-end devs would run the slower JS and CSS but back-end devs IMO would not really need the performance as they working locally and from a computer I guess. Also, back-end devs I imagine are more interested in the performance of the back-end, ...
