New topic button

I noticed that the new topic button in 3.2 is different from 3.1. Of course it's using FA now, but in 3.1 there's an asterisk icon after the text, while in 3.2 there's a pencil. A pencil is used to edit an existing post as well so IMO it is a bit inconsistent to use the same icon for different actio...

Re: phpbb 4

phpBB 3.2 is quite different from phpBB 3.0. As stated, there's Symfony, there's the complete extension system, there's Twig, there's a new text formatter, rewritten fileclass, plupload, etc. You could call it phpBB 4, but developers chose for phpBB 3.2 instead. That's just a number though, nothing ...

Re: General error when reporting

Well then, it seems I'm not the only one who is uncertain what we're talking about. :)

Question remains though, where should I report this to the tracker?

General error when reporting

I'm pretty sure this isn't the right place to report this, but I'm not sure what would be the right place. I just tried to report a post here on Area51, about being a support request that should be placed on phpBB.com/community After I posted the report form, I got this error: General Error SQL ERRO...

Re: Multi quote and quotes

Well, one could argue the quoting system could use some improvements (it hasn't really changed since phpBB 3.0 was released back in 2007) but bearing in mind the philosophy of a basic, lean and mean forum system I wouldn't go as far as IPB or XF do.

Re: Multi quote and quotes

I wish Quick Reply acted in the same way as many users may miss this while eliminating extra steps. On second thought, it would be good if Quick Reply was replaced by Full editor. Well, the Quick reply is intended for short, e.g. quick answers. It is intended to be far less resource intensive than ...

Re: Multi quote and quotes

I miss one, for me, important function in phpBB, and that is multi quote. You can choose to quote several people in XenForo by clicking the +Quote then "Add quotes" in Quick Reply (not called Quick Reply in XenForo). When you have the Full editor, the previous posts are shown in the botto...

Re: [3.3.x][Feature] Topic description

Of course there can be some use cases, but the question should be: would this benefit the majority of boards? I think it wouldn't. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the idea, but with all the boards I've actively participated on, this wouldn't be a real improvement. Actually on the contrary: 1 board ...
