They are great, really
Faster to load, more beautiful, smaller (I hate oversized images ) and in my opinion more "useful" to use.
I'd be glad to see such a change in smilies by the way Even if I like the current ones, it'd be good to have even better ones, like the new icons.

Re: password md5s upon upgrade to phpbb3 - a corner case
Please excuse me to answer in place of a phpBB developer but I think it must not be done. Re: 2 simple questions
Concerning the French translation, as far as I am aware it is not publicly released yet. However, it was almost complete when I was a member of one of the French communities and so I think it's right to say that they will release the translation once the first release candidate will be out

Re: Can anyone upload ProSilver?
You don't need to download a CVS client in order to get a copy of phpBB 3 with prosilver. Go to the bottom of the CVS page where you will be able to download a snapshot.

Re: hide text via custom bbcode ?
Sorry but it can not be done with custom BBcodes. You'll need a MOD if you really want this feature.
Custom BBcodes can only output HTML content (and of course, CSS & Javascript) but the "Hide" BBcode needs a piece of PHP code.

they all should work equally well. They all work well, I agree... equally... no :) Don't compare SQLite with Oracle for example :P But for a "normal" board, which does not have millions of posts, the simplest DBMS (i.e. MySQL I think with PHP... especially because it's the one mainly prov...

Re: Suspecting RC1 very soon!
No no, you didn't understand me.... My users wait for new board (new design, new features - not new forum features, I mean new content features), I can do it at the old board (phpbb2), but it's useless, because when will be Olympus released I will install it.... A convertor will be provided ...

Re: theFinn: return to development?
Have you actually looked at the memberlist? TheFinn - Last active 14 Mar 2007 20:11 That's hardly years and years ago ;) Yes I know :) (even if I can't see his last visit date since he hides his online status ;)) But, except if he often posts in private forums (you must know that better than me :))...
