sorted my problems........... to make it invisible to non members

then move the whole lot to very top of the index_body.tpl

had to do it for all the templates but hey

Could you do me a favour and look at what i need to change to make the shoutbox appear at the top of the forum....the way it installed was at the bottom

yep everything works fine.....but no options for control of the shoutbox itself ie, deleting posts etc.
