Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2
I would say that the availability of many styles that are subsilver2 based is much more convincing. Did that hurt when you wrote that? :P I'll take it anyway, as the first and only acknowledgement that perhaps decisions like this shouldn't be based on personal bias but instead on facts. I did...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2
It is still possible to have a prosilver based style that looks very close to subsilver2 with only modifying the CSS. That is not really addressing the main issue though. I believe that ease of customization is the largest reason SS is still so popular and why more custom styles are built on it. Cr...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2
And I certainly can't predict what will be controversial. Any change that negatively impacts (from their perspective) a large number of users would be the first red flag I would look for. :P I would say dumping SS support meets that criteria. Rename MSNM to WLM <- not so much. ;) There is no psychi...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2
We took a survey on this topic. Not really. There was no survey. This was just an obscure topic on a board/site that most of the user community does not even remember exists because it was abandoned for so many years. The feedback you received prior to the "ok it is decided" was from 12 i...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2
Ok, you were addressing MOD's that support SS only, fair enough. The way I read your reply was that SS is so little supported by modders as to be negligible, which if nn- is to be taken at face value is obviously far from true. Regardless of that, this whole RFC is comical to read as literally no da...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2
And, for the most part and from what I've seen in the MODs in Development forum, subsilver2 is usually the style that is brushed aside. http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=206214#p206214 While I cannot verify the percentages offered by nn-, 61% hardly seems like it gets "brushed asid...

Re: [RFC] Search Backend Refactoring
Given that We have changed the feature freeze date for phpBB "Ascraeus" 3.1 to be the 18th of July , in light of recent delays. Beyond this date no new features will be added to 3.1. All features which do not have an implementation at that point, will be postponed to 3.2 . Shouldn't all th...

Re: Philosophical question to phpBB developers
It's kind of pointless to ask "the phpBB developers" when phpBB4 really is supposed to be a community project where everybody can participate It's not pointless since ultimately it is the internal teams that will decide the overall direction the project takes. Community participation is f...

Re: Requirements page
i read your credentials you published here, and based on them i can assure you that i have more experience in software development than you do, inside and outside of fortune 500. Unfortunately the content of your posts does not support that assertion. When your catchphrase is "that doesn't mak...
