I havn't used the update yet however I believe it is for updating the phpbb 3 files when the update is going to be installed. Instead of installing just the database changes and files have to be done manually.

So in the end we're just waiting for a news to be posted on the main page

We have so many "beta 3", "next beta soon" threads. But yes it could be the next beta but only if the devs won't change their mind and decide to wait a bit more.

Maybe thats because you wrote your scripts badly?
Most scripts should work OK. I switched my PHP4 app onto PHP5 and worked fine, unfortunatly I have added some things from PHP5 so now I can never go back.

Anyone know when Zend is going to EOL PHP4? they can't keep supporting it for ever can they ...

I could rewrite my stuff but I don't want to do the work of rewriting the software of other users on my box.

I'm expecting a bunch of bug fixes as soon as acyd gets some time

I have the problem with php5 some of my applications won't run perfectly with it so I still use php 4. I wish scripts would be fully compatible with php5 because then I would upgrade. Maybe I'll do that when phpbb 3 gets released.

Ah good to know. Thanks. I actually use both. The beta and the CVS. However I more use the beta but I don't know why :-/.

It is just my opinion but when I would be the dev of a software I would fix a big bunch of bugs in the first beta and then release a second beta to see if something went totally ...
