Re: [RFC|Accepted] Improved template engine

the template engine expects $this to have template variables, which in the executor/renderer is not the case. Therefore I will be adding a "context" class which will store variables used during template evaluation. So this issue with the current 3.0.x template system will be resolved then? Edit: ju...

Re: [Patch] Direct (php-less) attachment downloads

HTTP direct downloads are still desirable for serving up content that is accessed commonly ...which is why you can put resources (e.g. files) directly on your server without any interaction of phpBB . The attachment feature doesn't come along with permissions only, it also includes a download count...

Re: - Ideas for phpBB 3.2 -

As for the lists there is an value for what type you can do for number or for lowercase alpha etc... I wasn't talking about the existing (first) parameter of the list= -code - re-read my numbers IV, V and VII: Make the list item ( [ * ] ) have an optional parameter, like [/b] which would render to ...

Re: [RFC] Registration & Login Overhaul

Just to prevent three extra page loads just to get logged in But AJAX also sends requests and receives responses - you're just hiding (not killing) the traffic. Most AJAX implementations I encountered have bad or no fallbacks at all - most of them expect to function properly - if internet is discon...

Re: Lightbox or similar

I guess for compiling a JS gallery of all picture attachments and/or all [img] embedded pictures of a post, so when you click on one of the (thumbnailed) pictures, you get a nasty animation effect plus prior/next buttons to browse all the pictures (instead of one oldschool mouse click to have the or...

Re: Default Editor - BBCode Shortcuts

Well-known is subjective. MS Word 2000 on Windows is localized and I have to press CTRL+SHIFT+F to get bold text. I can verify this for all Office programs up until version 2003. Jelsoft vB uses CTRL+B regardless of any chosen language. Which collides with what my browser already does for CTRL+B . I...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Switch to PHP timezone handling

JS cannot tell you if DST is in effect. Your phpbb_preselect_tz_select() calls .getTimezoneOffset() , which gives me for GMT +0100 (DST) = CEST the value -120 . So the JS function does what its name suggests: it gives you literally only the offset. Everybody can check it himself by entering this in ...

Re: - Ideas for phpBB 3.2 -

Why would a BBcode for left align be any useful if the text is left in normal state? xD For the same reason as it exists for CSS: to give an inner element a left alignment again, while his outer element has already a non-left alignment. ;) I'd like to see a more consequent implementation: Use <ins>...

Re: Default Editor - BBCode Shortcuts

phpBB already supports accelerator keys: with MSIE or FFOX on Windows you can hit ALT+B for clicking the Bold-button. With OPER it's not that easy ( SHIFT+ESC , then press the key of choice) unless you use an extension which enables you to do the same with ALT+SHIFT+B . While "accelerator keys" is ...
