Re: Stealing of ideas?

And psoTFX, you say they should acknowledge your work, have you done the same or are you claiming you've never used anything from them? Ummm. Yes, in different ways as well. The phpBB team might not run around on a daily basis to publicly declare their usage of code or ideas from other applications...

Re: PostgreSQL 8.0 Beta out.

Are you saying that you consider PostgreSQL better ? don't know much about it. No, I didn't say nor imply that. "Better" is difficult to define. "Better" for one user might be worse for another, depending on what application the RDMS serves. It was a simple observation about the proliferation of My...

PostgreSQL 8.0 Beta out.

PostgreSQL 8.0 Beta has been released. The exciting thing about this release is native Win32 support. That's right, PostgreSQL will run as a WinNT/XP Service and you don't need any special libraries, or configuration. All you have to do is double-click and install. http://developer.postgresql.org/be...

Good point.
dhn wrote: We may consider a blog for phpbb.com in the future though; with development being one the possible themes.
Oh, ok. Maybe in the future then.

Developer Blog?

Would the developers be open to using a blog to keep people informed? It might help to eliminate the constant progress questions.

Re: I've found a bug and feature in phpBB22-CVS_200405130600

This is still a development version, so there will surely be bugs. The forum rules state, "Don't discuss new features, report bugs, ask for support, etc. Don't use this to spam for other boards or attack those boards!"

They're not done yet, so there are bound to be bugs. Please be patient.

Re: Moving a forum into one of its children

Geez. I didn't mean to be offensive.

If they have something in mind, then they can say so if they want. If there that issue has not been decided, then they can say that too.

Re: Moving a forum into one of its children

If it deletes something then figure out where bug is and fix it for your forum. This is development version and things are meant to be broken and you are supposed to know php at least a little bit to use this version. I know it's a development version -- look at my original message. What I'm asking...

Moving a forum into one of its children

If I have this setup:

Code: Select all

Forum 1 -> Child forum 1 -> Child forum 2 -> Child forum 3
If I move Forum 1 and make it's parent forum Child 1, phpBB currently deletes the entire lineage. It's under development, I know.

I'm asking what the developers plan to do in that situation. Not allow the move?

Re: "phpBB&quot

It's probably an error with the way phpBB processes quotes. Remember, this is a dev version, not beta, rc or anything like that.
