Re: Prosilver Overhaul/Modernization

I agree with pretty much all of your suggestions just two things: I think we should move javascript files entirely out of the template and have a js directory on the same level as the imageset/theme/template and we should stick with XHTML meaning we would use XHTML5 (the XHTML version of HTML5). Fo...

Re: Prosilver Overhaul/Modernization

ok again with the HTML5, the goal is not to use it but to prepare for it in a semantic way! via <div class="section> or something like that The main point was that CSS3 Should be used, not that HTML5 should. my other post only points out that there are some minor HTML5 features that are safe to use ...

Re: Prosilver Overhaul/Modernization

Please make the mockups available under GPL or otherwise free (as in freedom) terms. One of the properties of prosilver is that its mockups/prosilver gdk are restrictively licensed. Sure thing that was the plan how ever they are not final in anyway. There is probably a lot still missing from them a...

Re: Prosilver Overhaul/Modernization

I think I agree with everything here except for the HTML 5 part. Since it is still in its infancy and is not even approved yet, we shouldn't be adopting HTML 5 standards that will break older browsers that are incapable of interpreting this. HTML 5 is best left for phpBB 4.0 at the earliest. I thin...

Re: Prosilver Overhaul/Modernization

first at your comment some of the things you mention are more changes to the style system/coding guidelines rather than prosilver itself. well some of it does need changed! Alot of the template variables need rewritten to better control the structure and the guidelines would need updaed or changed t...

Prosilver Overhaul/Modernization

******************** CHANGED ********************* Through further discussion of this topic with several others including devs and work on my own, it has been pointed out that the scope of the original proposal far surpassed 3.2 so it has been broken down into smaller goals/RFCs. We will be updatin...

Re: Beware the 4.0

Chrome 4 is also great :D Also Adobe's CS4 products are really good and better than the CS3 :D Ever used CS4 for mac? It's awful. But then again, all adobes products for mac are awful :) I don't think the numbering system should be changed just to avoid the number 4. ~Callum what backwards planet h...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2

ok coming to the game a little late I guess but here goes. I am all for dumping subsilver 2, and prosilver for that matter they are both bad themes however for different reasons. the whole debate about weather to keep subsilver is rather moot, if prosilver was done correctly then both themes could b...

+1 to this ie it would be far less confusing and would require less delving into file upon file to figure wtf is happening, and would lead to better themes IE shortform like WP

Re: [RFC] Include and use jQuery

I am all for including jquery. I have used a couple different js frameworks in the past such as mootools, dojo, & scriptaculous; however JQuery for me far out weighed them. Weather it be in easy of use, familiarity, documentation, speed, and file size. I would say the best way to implement it would ...
