I got 5.5 on my server and local PC (I run Ubuntu), but I don't have a live site atm

Ubuntu 10.04 comes with 5.3.2, a number of OpenVZ VPS hosts still do not support 12.04 (the latest LTS) because they're too good to update the kernel that 12.04 works with. Luckily I argued with my host enough they updated it today haha. I'm not sure what other distros have in their default repos ...

Perhaps we could add a Forgot Username feature that requires only the email address sends a list of the usernames linked to that email address, and then the user can figure out which one he is trying to reset from that list, and then use the existing Forgot Password feature?

View forum in the MCP, where you can moderate multiple topics, is essentially already duplicating the normal viewforum plus adding a quickmod feature. I would think that just having quick mod on view forum and get rid of the view forum in the MCP would be preferable. It would be significantly less ...

I don't know why everyone gets so defensive. In my opinion, at this time, phpBB *should* have some JavaScript integration to make usability improved, but JavaScript is only make-up, the best way to wear it is to make it look as if it's not there. That means all these wacky effects are not necessary ...
