Re: Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation
Who makes the determination that phpbb should be, or continue to be "basic"... phpBB, and based on all previous comments/videos/discussion I had seen my interpretation of version 4 was exactly that. The true value in version 4 was not that it would come packed with every feature ever conceived, rat...

Re: What is this forum for?
Great questionThis is something we should focus - the goal of phpBB? Another phpBB1, 2 and 3, just plain thread and discussion?

Re: Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation
We'll probably see a WYSIWYG editor for 4.x, though much of the ones I've seen are garbage. It may just be a plugin that is included but not enabled by default. When we include a wysiwyg editor, we would include it because it is of better service, quality, stability, etc etc than we had previously....

Re: Package Management - was: Translations / styles
# The user should be able to add any number of custom repositories # The user should be able to remove the phpbb.com repository I disagree, the user shouldn't have to use multiple repositories, if they did it would create more issues than its solving by decreased security, support etc etc plugin/ad...

Re: Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation
WYSIWYG is not a feature that is required for basic bulletin board operation, thus it falls under *bloatware* in my world and since Rhea is geared towards delivering a bare bones framework that is as featureless or feature loaded as an individual administrator wishes it to be (through extensions) I...

Re: MODS -> plugins/add-ons/extensions
i guess we are debating terminology ... which is fine... because we all seem to be in agreement with the proposal.

Re: [End user][User] Profile control
i agree, i think we should empower the registered members with the ability to create and customise as they please. 1. Better functionality for friends list. 2. UCP communication improvements 3. UCP transformed into a user homepage, that includes a settings page for all the current/new UCP settings 3...

Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation
I would like to discuss the implementation of a wysiwyg editor for phpbb4 in core. Not just why we like or dislike an editor but the benefits and drawbacks of adding one to core if any exist.
me personally, i prefer TinyMCE http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/index.php

Re: Merge from Concrete-ism to software-ism
Who is going to pay for the system it all runs on? Surely you don't think the phpBB Group has multi-million dollar backers and funds to pay for servers to host everything for everyone. good point, I would like to see a blog post about the business side of phpbb. How capital is allocated, volume of ...

Re: MODS -> plugins/add-ons/extensions
i agree, im not fond of the term mod .... and from my understanding it wouldn't be accurate to continue to use Modification extension, extending the core install seems condescending as if you have to install the extensions to get functionality. I prefer the term plugin. After further discussion mayb...
