Re: [RFC] Human Readable URLs

Why not simply make "title" GET key available to be used, make it easier for MOD authors to access it, so that it can be used by .htaccess to make nice URLs, so that users can see what topic is about even when hovering over the link. I think this is the propose of this RFC... I think it can be simpl...

Re: [RFC] Human Readable URLs

Why not simply add topic_title_slug into DB table and instead of search, it would work in just the same way as topic_id (SQL query will not try to fetch data of specified ID, but slug instead). Slug would need to be unique, of course, but it is not a big deal to write function for generating slug af...

Re: [RFC|Merged] AJAX

BTW, "marking topics in forum read" here marks them read, but does not remove all those icons signing new posts in topics. I think it is not a big deal to remove them (especially via jQuery selectors) and it would be much better I think. Like real ajax, because I do not see real point in marking the...

Re: [RFC] Post Revisions

Yeah, but you probably know what I mean. End user can easily get confused what happened, he just wanted to change two words and it seems like ... well, not whole words changed really. If it is not a big deal to do diff with whole words, it would probably be better I think...

Re: [RFC] Post Revisions

Yes, but GitHub has some problems with word-based diff. It works like this: This is original post. This is other host. Diff: This is o riginal ther pos hos t Note "o" and "t". On GitHub, it is not a word-based diff really. On GitHub it makes sense - it is diff for source code, but phpBB's posts are ...

Re: [RFC] Improved AntiSpam Countermeasures by default

HTTP blacklists are ok, however they require registration, don't they? At least Akismet do, what about the others. The main point of phpBB team is to include anti-spam not requiring... But there is an important question: if Wordpress can offer Akismet to the users as default, why phpBB not? Nowadays...

+1 for this

How big/demanding is GeSHi? Would not this rapidly slow down the page loading?

If adding to core, I would preffer not to load whole GeSHi until at least one CODE tag requires it.
