Erik asked me to post this here (see the phpBB Falling Behind? topic on phpbb.com), so here I am. I won't copy all of the discussion, just my idea, but feel free to read that for background.
I suggest having a phpBB Requirements/RFC forum on phpBB.com. Lots of people have asked in the past where to ...

Re: Finish up and release
All together this will result in a feature release being made roughly every 12/14 months, which is a very acceptable cycle.
I think 12-14 months for a feature release is still too long; 12 months should be the outside target (it might slip, of course). IMHO, feature releases should be more like 6 ...

Re: [RFC] BBCode permissions and moving to all custom
+1 to making all bbcodes custom. AFAIK there are no core-functionality tie-ins to the base set of codes[...]
I wouldn't make the codes truly custom (you wouldn't be able to delete them or change their definitions or HTML replacements). I'd allow changing whether their button was displayed and ...

but I'm totally against the red bar, phpBB should not display messages about the browser, but the board only.
Maybe the browser warning is an ACP option.

Re: [RFC] BBCode permissions and moving to all custom
I've been suggesting this for a long time, so I agree with Tabitha (mostly). I would make a few modifications, though.
I would add reorder up/down arrows for the BBCodes to allow controlling the order they're displayed on the posting page.
I would add a Disable feature for BBCodes. You could ...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Soft Delete
Another state that would be useful is "saved". See the Save shouldn't have an interstital topic at phpBB.com.
That would make saving "fully functional" without losing attachments, polls, etc.

Registration Problem In Firefox
Yesterday, I was having trouble registering here. I would agree to the registration terms and get to the next page, but no CAPTCHA was shown. This was in Firefox 3.0.5. I had to use IE to register.
I was also having problems staying logged in after registering, so I cleared my Firefox cookies and a ...

I haven't read all 18 pages of this, so if this has been addressed, please point me to the reply.
One thing I remember people talking about in phpBB 2 was changing the registration script's name so that bots couldn't find it easily. After having read the long server outage thread, especially the ...

Re: [Discussion] Downtime and Server Compromise
Please guys, use the edit function. It's already a long thread, please try to not inflate it by posting in succession.
I'm confused. How would the Edit function help? Assuming your post is directed at me, I responded to different people in different posts to avoid replies to one thing needing ...

Re: [Discussion] Downtime and Server Compromise
I in no way even remotely fault anyone on phpbb for not patching something when a patch was not even released till many days later. However, I do wonder if the knowledge of the security hole in phpList was circulating underground for a while before it was posted on milworm, and if it might have ...
