Re: Which IE versions should we kill?
It's not all about nobody caring, it's about time spent supporting it and whether it is worth it, though. Of course someone will get *beep* off if phpBB breaks in IE8—but if it speeds up a release by two weeks, it's probably worth it.

Re: PHPBB3-10620 - Quote tag improvement
Again, if I'm missing something, please give a specific, detailed scenario where information may be leaked.
Create a new topic and preview [quote post_id=123][/quote] as its content. If you see a date and username in the quote then you know that post #123 exists, when it's been posted and who its ...

What exactly would be leaked?
You give the ID of a post and you get whatever data from the database.
Your quote change is already giving them the post ID. I'm just saying to do the necessary checks at preview/posting time, not at quoting time. In fact, I believe that you prevent leaks better if ...

Re: Several Built in features to consider deeply
In your opinion. Can you cite any research about that? Do real professional sites like Amazon, Facebook, Twiiter, etc. do that?
You seriously are comparing phpbb with those? None above has same management nor they do same things. It's like comparing a car with a skateboard that rolls. You think ...

If you don't have permission to read the post that's linked to, so what?
It would leak information on posts that can't be read. It's not critical information but someone would eventually report it to a security database and it would have to be fixed.

Re: Several Built in features to consider deeply
I would also like to add "welcome tour" to my list. If needed I can create new post about it. Do let me know.
What would this feature do? If enabled from ACP new users would get something like forum wizard/tour where they will be introduced with few basic features of phpbb such as changing profile ...
