Re: Make "Restore permissions" link more visible
Yeah. I don't know what I was thinking when I moved it inside the dropdown. Definitely a mistake .

Re: Template engine changes to allow for structure flexibility
I think that its you - hanakin - who do not understand what you are saying...... its absurd especially for those whose forums are hosted with very limited disk quota/s....... new object = new file will quickly make their quotas used in 100%...... makes no sense to me. Instead of transforming well-w...

Re: Usage of tables in 3.1
hanakin is correct. The use of tables may have decreased considerably in web design. But they are still very much valid in many use-cases.
I think our choice of tables/lists for the particular templates has been a correct one.

Re: Template engine changes to allow for structure flexibility
Another thing to think about if we don't want to use a template abstraction layer, is how far we want to go in conforming prosilver to the desired new template structure. I agree that reorganizing the prosilver templates could be done, but whether we want to split it up in components as well would d...

Re: Template engine changes to allow for structure flexibility
I'm not sure how easily we can drop prosilver for 3.2. I think we've indicated in various places that 3.1 is the last supported version for subsilver, and 3.2 would be the last version for prosilver. In any case. If we decide to not use a template abstraction layer, but decide to hard-code the new t...

Re: Show Quick links menu on hover, not on click
Disabling javascript doesnt make it work as intended, does it ? The hover is a side effect and it only uses the simple css hover effect. I cant say i dislike it terribly. But we should set it up properly with javascript to add the same delay effect that phpbb.com has on its menu and it is perfect.....

Re: Template engine changes to allow for structure flexibility
Yeah, so basically everything MichaelC said ;). My main gripe is still with the backwards-compatibility part. Indeed we want to change the template file structure. Not just a bit, I mean completely . I think most people would agree with this (since the current template structure is seriously outdate...

Template engine changes to allow for structure flexibility
For future styles development, we are looking into restructuring the template files. This will be done in a more object oriented way, with an emphasis on splitting the templates up into reusable, self-contained blocks. It has been brought up before, particularly here: https://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/...

Re: Profile-Tooltip
This would have to be done with AJAX, because you don't want to retrieve all the avatars and user info of every single username included on a page. So the info would only be requested on demand. It could definitely start out as an extension. I'm torn. While it's kind of cool, I'd also hate to be scr...

Luckily, you can easily do it yourself in the ACP .
