Re: Attachment Management

1. Store by month instead of user_id Why? 2. Rename each attachment Why? 3. Add watermark That could be an option, sure. 4. Use Gmail attachment's upload method (show the upload bar and stay on the same page - without refreshing the page) So some sort of AJAX-based upload, then? 5. Multiple selecti...

Re: Wave Federation Protocol Integration (API)

To be quite honest I'd rather phpBB focus its energies on phpBB and any development towards a different product such as you described be done by another entity without sapping resources from the main product.

Re: Wave Federation Protocol Integration (API)

To be quite honest I think such a full implementation would not be in the best interest of the project if not only for the reasons described above. A forum based on such a design paradigm would be inherently different in both usability and function and would not be a natural progression for a projec...

Re: Search Architecture

I'd honestly rather see that as an available search backend type of thing rather than anything inherently enabled/required/standard. I've yet to see tagging work in any kind of common forum setup.

Re: Search Architecture

The accuracy of search is based on content. The accuracy of tagging is based on arbitrary information entered by a user. Every seen YouTube's tags? That is no reason not to include the functionality. I agree however relying on it for searching as was suggested is just plain senseless IMHO. To be qu...

Re: Wave Federation Protocol Integration (API)

Not a default, just provided as an option, AFAIK.

Re: Search Architecture

Tagging relies that (1) the OP will take the time to tag their post (2) that the tags will be accurate -- both of these are uncertain enough that IMHO they should not be relied on for searching (or anything else honestly).

Re: Wave Federation Protocol Integration (API)

While I find the idea interesting I'm not entirely sure becoming dependent on every new, beta, not-heavily-used software would be a bit of a poor idea at this point. Perhaps potential implementation via a more pluggable architecture may be something to be looked at, but to be honest designing phpBB4...

Re: Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation

To be quite honest I think it is far too early to be discussing something that will not exist until the late stages of development, if at all. While I understand people would rather get to the features rather than the architecture, at this point there's really no benefit in it -- for all we know JS-...
