I tested a recent CVS, I was a little wrong with avatar handing, a user has a avatar, he is made default to a group that has no avatar, = he keeps his avatar, even though he loses his rank, (if he had one) a user has a avatar, he is made a default to a group that has a new type of avatar, = his avat...

somebody asked a similar question over on phpbb.com, what karlsemple said is true, this however only effects users that are default to a group, if you add a user and not make him / her default to that group, then that user will keep whatever rank / avatar he/she had, and if that user had a rank / av...

Most likely will not be upgrading. Almost at 7 million posts and 250,000 pics and tons of changes that who knows how long it would take to convert them all over. It doesn't seem as there are enough new wonderful things to take the time to make the switch and throw away everything we have done up to...

Beta means it is in testing phase of the development. RC means Release Candidate, and would be nearing official Gold (otherwise known as Final) Release. As for which one you choose, that would be fore you to decide. Support will be provided for RC1, and no sooner, so anytime past RC should be fine....

this should have been posted over at phpbb.com support however to anwser you question, you need all the mbstring to be yes, as two are currently set to no, if you have access to the php.ini file you should find the settings and change them, otherwise try asking your host to change the settings
