I hardly call the moderator's reply a slap on the wrist. He gave you valuable info on answering your question in a polite way.

Re: can phpBB get and use login from website?
You're better off trying to integrate your login form with phpBB than trying to get phpBB work with your login form -- especially if you have little coding knowledge.

Re: Turning optional Location field mandatory?
I'd be OK with that. Any idea what I might need to do? I've dabbled in PHP but ain't no wiz.
I'm honestly not the right person to ask. Also, I don't think this kind of modifications are supported at this time.
Also please remember that messing around with the code, if you're not an expert ...

Re: New CAPTCHA
How hard can it be to recognise cats :lol: I think I've done it about ten times, and the only times it's told me I was a bot was when I deliberately left out one or two cats to see if it had any tolerance for people taking the test too quickly and missing one or two cats (it doesn't). So, you ...

Re: mass email...where?
ACP->SYSTEM->MASS EMAIL ;)
That was the first place I tried. The only options I see there are to 'check for updates' and to 'manage report/denial reason'. I can't find anything relevant in the ACP general tab either. Any more detailed hint? Perhaps I need to turn it on first?
