Dear all,
Some thoughts on using phpbb as a school forum, but I am sure most of it is relevant for any
larger installation with many forums and groups:
I run a cluster of 7 phpbb2 school forums, each with six classes that I hope to merge into one large phpbb3 forum this summer.

FWIW,
Allowing users with less experience of the net to simply use the e-mail software or RSS
they normally use first and foremost to stay current and informed, but also contribute to our community has been vital for the relative success we have had.

Thanx for heads-up,
That works for part of what we do, yes...
But our forums are also set up to send out certain forums and makes sure that vital info
is "pushed" to all members in the community. It's not quite the same as a notification
to go and read on the forum. Which is great for other things ...

I guess I would have thought that using phpbb as a listserver would be a pretty big thing...
Ah well...in my community it is ,-)
I guess I will just count on the m2f team to deliver a version that works with Olymous.
We shall see what the future holds..

Hello,
A search yielded nothing so I will ask here:
I run a bunch of phpbb2 forums for a school and we use mail2forum:
http://mail2forum.com/forums/index.php
to get mail into and out of the forums. Works great!
Could anyone comment if that type of functionality will be at least partially a part ...
