Re: New Features and Mods For v3
Sure, I do. And we aren't going to settle our differences, as it were. I have to say that I do honestly fear the idea that the developers would have to become responsibile for the code base of a "kitchen sink equipped" phpBB as well as the leaner phpBB 2.0 line (which they may continue to support d...

More Noticeable "Board Index" Link
The "Board Index" link should be more noticeable. Right now it's kind of "tucked-away". I'm a pretty well rounded web surfer and designer. However, upon coming to this Board for the 1st time and registering... after clicking around for a bit (the Board, profile, etc.) I found myself looking for it...

Well if its not being used, not much db space is being taken upUchiha Nick wrote: thats quite selfish you know. it does take some resources, and those who dont want it can shut it down. that doesnt take away the used up space for db tables IE.

Re: New Features and Mods For v3
Speaking of perspectives, in order to see what I'm saying, you need to see this from a couple of perspectives, one mine, the other, phpBB's tradition. My perspective: I'm old. I've been involved in discussion forums for more than twenty years. In the beginning, we had significant, world-wide text-o...

Re: New Features and Mods For v3
I second Martin's comments. Making a discussion forum "fun" used to be about the content and the users. Now it appears to be increasingly about what I'll presume to call gimmicks. It was and is about the content of the users. However, that is no reason to put the breaks on creativity. And I don't m...

Re: New Features and Mods For v3
People have been doing online journals and personal pages for the last decade and then some. My point exactly. Maybe I should have been clearer... The profile section in v3 has been greatly improved. Something "similar" - maybe not with as many features - as the "my space" mod would have been a hug...

Re: CashMod
Getting back on topic...
I think the Cash Mod or a similar feature should be added. At the least, as an option that can enabled/disabled in the ACP.

New Features and Mods For v3
From what I've seen and read so far phpBB v3 is going to be a great BB. However, I think it is time for it to start developing into a Board of the present - if not the future. A prime example is the Cash Mod (I know there is a topic for this). I think the Cash Mod or a similar feature should be adde...
