Re: "Test connection" button for installer

The installer already does this automatically before going to the next step.

Re: Avatars

just make sure that there are suitable events so that somebody can make an extension to remove them. The whole point is that there already is an option in the core to turn them off so there shouldn't be a need to ignore that setting nor a need to have an extension. IMO if the style is properly writ...

Re: Avatars

I am not sure why you would ever not want this, what is the down side? It's not about what you or I think. It's about the fact we have the ability to disable the feature, what Marco said. While you might think it's something one wouldn't do and is a thing of the past to even consider, it is probabl...

Re: Should we standardize our page titles

I think the point of the way it is now is because the user is more interested in seeing the topic or forum title than the site name in their title bar or favorites.

Re: Avatars

More often than not you want to display an avatar in a theme regardless of if they have one as not having one adds layout complications to a theme. Not to mention that avatars are more of a standard practice in most components on the web Can't assume avatars are always present since the feature can...

Re: [RFC][3.3.x] Dropping support for outdated databases

Don't have a source on usage, but I think this one is long past the expiration date: SQL Server 2000. Have a ticket for that one already where I had put in more details:

Re: Has someone been updating Area51's board software?

The form submit buttons do look a lot better now using a larger size, compared to how they looked in the initial release of phpBB 3.2, which they looked too small. Have you carried this same change across with the form submit buttons into the Admin CP for consistency there also to match the front-e...

Re: WEBSITE-1268 update?

The bug report was in the wrong tracker so it's been moved: https://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/CUSTDB-753 Locking since this has nothing to do with the core product. If you are actually experiencing this error then you should post more information to the ticket, not create a topic about it here. Thank...

Re: Feature Modification

A bit too late for such a change as the extension ecosystem is now in the hundreds, but thanks. The folder structure matters very little if you have an extension installer in the ACP, which is what we are aiming for in the next version. And it really matters little in WordPress as well what folder s...
