Re: [RFC] Simple message API

Sounds really good. I would change this however:

Code: Select all

// or a shorter API
$message->allow(false, false, false);
to maybe:

Code: Select all

// or a shorter API
$message->allow_formatting(false, false, false);
Trying to make the purpose of the function more obvious. :)

Re: Suggesting a new feature

I guess it would be useful if the person being tagged has not replied to the topic so they would not be subscribed. Then again all of that depends on if the user has changed their settings to allow such notifications in the first place.

Re: Fixing the display of attachments.

Those would all be modifications to the template/style and is technically already possible, as you've already done. But I would agree that maybe in the default style (prosilver2?) it should be looked at.

Re: It's not a MOD, it's a feature package

As for MODX I thought of having a structure very similar to the current one with the difference that instead of having a lot of changes for the whole mod, the install.xml would consist of grouped changes referring to a particular feature. I agree with FeyFre here. MODX already offers this. Instead ...

And also reduce its size. Right now pretty much any existing UMIL language is included from which you'd potentially use only 1 of those.

Re: [RFC] Modular cron

One thing I'm wondering is why does cron.php need append_sid? Based on the current set of tasks it should not. Perhaps there are tasks that could take care of something session-based, but I cannot really think of a use case. More than likely it's because cron.php is loaded for basically all users a...
