Re: [RFC] Make icons clickable
Making forum icons clickable was one of the very first MODs I ever installed on phpBB2... it's a natural inclination for even experienced web users, not to mention casual folks. I always wondered why it wasn't that way from the beginning.

Re: [RFC] Post Revisions
To cut down on the number of revisions, could we apply a little heuristic -- only generate a new revision if somebody else has viewed the post since that revision (or at least have that as an option).

Re: Notify me upon replies by default
Apple's support board has this off by default. They're doing okay too. :) To be honest, my preferences (stated earlier) aside, I'm not even sure this would be legal in many countries. It's easier to leave it off than to potentially have to research every different country and their requirements ...

Re: Notify me upon replies by default
I absolutely disagree. Unless I explicitly sign up for notification emails, I don't want to get them.

Re: Design The Index So It's Easier To Post/Reply To Topics
I believe the current layout/design of the forum index can be adjusted a bit to help accommodate these changes (and previously discussed).
If you can suggest how that would be accomplished it would help. Right now what I am getting from this topic is you're suggesting a change but don't know what ...

Re: Design The Index So It's Easier To Post/Reply To Topics
Do you disagree that the index of Forums need to be re-designed to make it easier to post and/or reply to existing posts?
I think so, yes. :)
I can't see any logical way to reply to something you're not looking at. The index does not show me content, so there's nothing to comment on. Even if ...

Re: Design The Index So It's Easier To Post/Reply To Topics
I'm not sure I agree. With a blog, there is content on the main page, so a comment form makes sense. The main (index) page of a board has no content other than a list of forums. So allowing someone to come in and start commenting (posting) right away... what would they be posting on?

Re: [RFC] Post Revisions
I've made my opinion known. :) And earlier in this very topic I said:
On the permissions thing... I think the more options you can provide, the more flexible the feature will become, and the better it will be received.

Re: [RFC] Post Revisions
Assume that some user posts a spam or warez link in the Wiki post. Does it make sense to edit the post to remove the link, knowing that users can still see the link in the revisions? I think that it makes more sense to delete the revision.

Re: [RFC] Post Revisions
Personally I don't see a point to have revisions searchable. It makes the entire system far more complex and for little to no benefit. What matters is the current revision, not how we got there.
