We can not force hosts to update to phpBB3 from phpBB2, also worth noting that phpBB2 is still a fully supported piece of software.

ok ill give them a shout but if i go strictly through phpbb is it still free for a basic forum and would i get access to the add-on mods i want? --Nate phpBB.com is the home of the phpBB message board software which is free to download and use, however phpBB does not provide hosting and as such you...

http://www.freeforums.org is a host who offers phpBB forums using the phpBB software, however such free hosts modify the software to work with their multi-hosting scripts meaning we do not offer support for the software that these free hosts use. There is a request tracker, which will be opened when the development team are accepting feature requests for the next version of phpBB. Currently though the feature request tracker is closed, so just keep a hold of any ideas you have for when they open the request tracker :)

As for feature requests....there is no where to make them for phpBB3 as it is currently feature frozen :)

Config.php: 666 before install, 644 after install Cache directory: 777 Images/avatars directory: 777 Store: 777 Files: 777 All other directories: 755 All other files: 644 IIRC in phpBB3 it is the images/avatars/upload directory which needs 777 not sure the whole avatar directory needs it ....I know...

If you search on the main site a 'fix' has been posted several times. Try searching for topics where people have complained about cut off images. But one way or another you'll have some sort of consequence of stretching the page width. I've searched the site a dozen times and all I find are resize ...
