Re: Wave Federation Protocol Integration (API)
Hmmm I have mentioned G.W numerous times and have spoken about strong integration and API (I said build phpBB4 around them). I think they do see the big trend and will make the API extensions stronger, easier and more powerful. But I don't think they are willing to make phpBB4 too customize (they wa...

Re: [Usability] Reducement of confirmation pages / Allow undo
If you need to do undo history, a good way to purge old revisions is to set expiration.
Whether it is done by the scripts or by users, they generate heavy load to the server anyway, because you might have 100+ revisions just in 10 minutes.

Re: Search Architecture
Why don't we first include tag into posting? Doesn't this make the search easier and faster to sort out common keywords? Yahoo / Google learns them by sorting some way like that - not exactly of course, Most importantly, once we have tag for phpbb4 as a default, we must let users to edit tags for th...

I think they translate this back to HTMLEelke wrote:I don't exactly know how they do it, but at first glance this suggests TinyMCE also does bbcode: http://tinymce.moxiecode.com/examples/example_09.php
Of course, a challenge would be to get it to handle custom bbcodes as well...

What and Why phpBB 4 and forum?
Let's restart bolvek's question again. Surely this is also my question. Let's forget about phpBB and forum. Let's forget phpBB 1, 2, and 3. Who cares. Let's make them disappear and make forum disappear too. What if forum was never invented? What do we expect it to do? How do we present our informati...

Re: Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation
Bantu, can you explain this a bit more? I am sorry if I sound dumb
An idea would be having an editor that produces valid BBcode. The editor would wrap around the BBcode parser

Re: What is this forum for?
On the automod part, just quote the question above, do we have a decision what kind of modification (okay you gusy want to invent a new word now) will phpBB take??? Simple hook (the kind wordpress has), easy - just upload and activate. But when it comes to what majority is today for 3.0x, we modify ...

Will phpBB host a community meeting soon?
Will phpBB team consider to host a community meeting one day, like the coder day in the past? Like a local? Or broadcast? We have IRC and this forum.. I don't know, but I feel like we need something for phpBB4. Very few users are here to discuss it (and plus I am not that great when it comes to php ...

Re: Wysiwyg TinyMCE implementation
Hi, I did not mean that either, please also accept my apology if you also feel the same in the beginning. Yeah. I suggested that because I tried to reflect the point that phpBB4 should meet the long request of make "rich-text editors" a default. The overall construction will be the decisio...
