Need thoughts on "Users send e-mail via board" option

The "Users send e-mail via board" option in the ACP determines whether the plaintext email address is displayed or whether an email form is used instead. In order to see either, a user needs to have the sendmail permission. There is no warning on the registration page or anywhere else (as far as I ...

Topic disapproval leaves no traces

Currently, disapproving a topic leaves no traces of the text and therefore no way to quality control moderator decisions. If a user contacts an administrator with a complaint, it becomes difficult to investigate. This also means that the user cannot repost if no copy of the text was saved.

Some ...

[RFC] Contact Page

At the moment, phpBB installations provide no way for a non-registered user to contact the administrators of the board. In fact, depending on permissions, even a registered user may not be able to PM administrators. There are many cases where getting in touch with an administrator is very important ...

Re: [RFC] Include STK by default

I don't like this idea at all. If there are problems with the stk then it would not be updatable through the typical venues as they presently are. Plus the stk needs quite a bit of rework as I understand it which makes it a bit more of a problem. Not to mention that the stk is not something most ...

Re: Issue With phpBB.com Website

Some questions:

Does this happen consistently or intermittently?
Have you tried using another browser?
Do you have anti-malware software installed and have you recently run a scan?
Do you see a partial page load before it redirects, or does it go straight to that site?
Open up a terminal (or ...

I am sure that there will be a replacement of prosilver when 4.0 arrives.
The release of 4.0 is far enough away that we could neither confirm nor deny this.

The goal is to focus more on prosilver.

Re: What's wrong with phpBB development

I agree with some of what you said to an extent.

We do not always follow majority opinion for the reasons that you mentioned. For one thing, it's impossible to get an accurate representation of the entire userbase since only a small, and potentially non-representative, number of users participate ...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2

But the concept of style specific configuration would provide this option for example.
Indeed, that's a pretty good idea actually.

That is definitely not an easy change. Doing code edits is tricky for some/many people.

If we are talking about what the majority wants, they want topic data on the ...

Re: [RFC|Accepted] Removal of subsilver2

I think a lot of people don't like prosilver because of the user data being on the right side in topics. When I first upgraded my forum, many of our users complained about it. If there was a switch in the ACP and it was defaulted to the left on installation, I think many more people would use ...
