Strictly speaking a RC is stable enough to make a final release. Its just another precaution to find any faults/bugs in the code

I'll admit i appear to be one of those fool's who fell hook, line, and sinker believing this would actually com out by now. One has to actually wonder if this will ever be released.


It will get released, and i'm predicting soon (in the next couple of months) for the BETAs to start hitting the ...

This is a CVS version. As phpBB arn't doing Alphas it should go like this:

CVS => BETAs => Release Candidates => Final

I see everyones points on this but a API system is (to me) bloat. Personally i wouldn't use it. I wouldn't need it, and i wouldn't want it. Now what happens if you get people that don't want to upgrade because of the API system. Now you've been saying that it would make people update more but waht ...

Honestly, if you love messing with code nothing will stop you. But the majority of users would truly embrace this, coupled with an online repository of modules similar to what Joomla has it would make it so easy to add features to your board.
