Re: Why not PHP 5?

Huh? I thought it supported php5. I am running a live board on beta 2 with php5 without any problems at all.

Even so, it is still getting very stable. If they come out with a beta3 I don't think it will be in that stage nearly as long as beta2.

Re: What about those "community coding projects?"

Awsome, thanks for the info. I would really have liked to have seen the events system in 3.0, but I guess I would rather see 3.0 come out first instead of waiting longer. Anyway, nice work guys! I can't wait till RC1. :D

What about those "community coding projects?"

If I remember correctly there were some interesting things in those, like the events system for example. From the last I heard they were all being developed, what happened to them? Are they going to be included in the RC's? In the gold release? Have they already been included? Thanks a bunch. I hope...

Re: Not Using phpBB

I honestly would recomend the latest IPB or VB over the current phpBB, but if you can wait a little longer, then definitely phpBB3 or VB.

It may be bias since I have gotten used to phpBB3, but if only phpBB3 had a few features that VB has, I think it would be the best. Period.

OH MY FRICKEN GOD IM GOING TO SCREAm111111!!!!!

I HATE cvs clients. I HATE THEM!!!!! ARGH! WinCVS used to work fine for me. Not anymore, it has trouble with cvs.exe or something or other. I googled the problem and others have had it too but nobody can fix it, and no a re-install didn't fix it. WinCVS was all fine and dandy when it did work, you j...

Re: Final Beta?

Well, of course it says beta3 dev. Beta2 is already out, they are not developing it anymore or fixing any bugs. Beta2 is just beta2. Whatever work they do now is working on beta3. As soon as beta3 is launched, whatever work they do would be qualified as beta4dev. Or if they are not planning on a bet...

I hope that isn't 24/7. All it would take is for someone to hop in the shower and burn the retinas off everyone on the forum!

Re: Olympus Beta upgrade to Olympus Final?

So, in essence, *pretty much* all the major database changes are done and the *pretty much* all the changes made from here on out are in the files themselves, meaning all you would have to do is make sure your config.php or whatever is backed up, then just run the CVS update to get everything from o...
