Why are people still using that coding method?

Because Coldfusion is still a great coding method. Its so much easier to do any database work in Coldfusion than it is in PHP, or any other method......

Permission question

So, here's my question, if I have permission to view a category and message, and want to send the message to someone else.

If the person I send the message to doesn't have privilages to view the catgeory and/or message, what happens if they try to click on the link that is sent?

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

I just noticed that during a conversion I ran through as a test, the new board now has all the bots set as registered users.

I am just wondering if that's going to cause a problem with permissions........ :?:

Re: phpBB2 -> phpBB3 Upgrade Script Discussion

I'm trying to do the convert, and based on the instructions it says not to overwrite any existing files.

So, I have my current forum in a ../forum/ directory on my site
I put the new files in a ../forum2/ directory

And browsed to http://www.site.com/forum2/install/index.php

What I get is:

Private message settings question

I noticed that when reading a private message, you have the option to mark it as either 'important' or to delete it.

Is there a way custom markings can be added in the ACP?? So can I add a "respond to later" and a color??

Or would this have to be a mod later on?

Re: Forum image question

Yep, that worked. I'm curious as to why there is a option to have a image for a category, if it isn't going to be displayed..... :?:

Thanks for the help though! :D

Forum image question

What is the 'forum image' used for? I added in a image, and it shows the image when I'm editing the forum, but if I go back to the board index, it doesn't show up.

Am I confused as to what this image is being used for?
