Seeing as that style is very similar to subSilver, it would be very easy to change subSilver2 to look like FI Black just by replacing images and editing CSS. Some new images would have to be made to replace the ones subSilver2 has that subSilver doesn't, but still, nothing impossible

The fact is that styles for 3 are very different than those for 2. The templating system is drastically different, so this type of "intelligent conversion" you are talking about would be pretty much impossible to do.
Basically if you do want to upgrade and keep your style,you have a few options ...
