In my mind no. What if another MOD wants to use user defined 1 then you would need to update its template code.

You will need to add a new entry to includes/acp/acp_styles.php, language/en/acp/styles.php & also look at adding to phpbb_styles_imagetset_data.

Think of the top of my head those are the bits you have missed. Its not easy to add a new image anymore.

Did you report to the security tracker? phpBB.com run it so obviously they feel its secure. Not reporting stuff stops them being aware of any issues and being able to fix it

It should have a .xml and .xsl file. So open the xml with your browser and you should get the instructions... if the MOD author has done it correct

MODX is just XML format for the MOD format. It in itself does not reduce workload on manual install. phpBB3 structure makes stuff easier to do with less edits.

MODX and ACP are not related. Modules can be part of a MODification released with MODX, but not all MODifications will have modules.
