Re: Why is there...?

That's alright, don't mind him, we normally keep him locked up in a cage. Must have chewed through the bars again! CVS - Concurrent Version Storage - Basically where the devs are up to, or what they have submitted so far Prefix for tables in database: - In pretty much everything that basically mean...

Re: Global Ignore

Well, it should be Really easy to mod :-) but, what is the point ? if you wanna ban someone, just ban him... if people think that other's post are lame, add those to ignore list but global ignore, is just useless imho.(and I think not present in phpbb2.2/3.0 but so easy to make...) ...also, you'll ...

Re: Global Ignore

It the guy has enough skill he will always be able to re-register on your site and spam so inventing new ways of doing the impossible is wasteing time. yes, very true - however, I posted already some time ago that we had serious problems with some people, and banning/ignoring etc. didn't work for r...

Re: Bookmark your favourite boards

... if you are mainly interested in specific sub forums, one could also think about a feature that allows users to optionally personalize their "index/home" page, so that certain sub forums are simply faded out / not shown. Something like that would probably really come in handy for forums with many...

Re: What banned users see

The whole banning thing is entirely theoretical and essentially -unfortunately- pointless, I mean about 12 months ago we tried to use it quite extensively on several users who were trying to annoy the whole forum, very soon we learned that "banning" does acutally only work for those folks who really...

Re: Suggestion for a small annoying thing in phpbb

I run into this quite often in some of my boards, a poster puts one of those impossibly long url's and screws up the display of the page, an improvement for that would be to have a truncate url when such thing occurs, keep the url intact but truncate the display part. test: http://www.900chml.com/n...

Re: Ignore a given thread?

One way to do this could be 'topic categories' along the same lines as topic/post icons. An admin could set up several, like [Games], [Photos], [General], etc. Users would be able to select which ones they wish to have displayed (or alternately, those they want to ignore). When posting, a user woul...
