Re: shared & cross-server user profiles - user@phpbb.com

I've written a quick patch (a real patch file, not a MOD) for phpBB2.0 to make it support remote user profiles and instant account creation. This allows users to quickly login with their user profile from one board on another. Temporary user profiles are created automatically from remotely exported...

Re: All posts from a certain topic on one page?

It's a good idea, but a better idea would definatley to do this for at least the printable pages. I mean, you click on printable version, then you have to manually print each page!!! That's actually simple to do, it could be as easy as providing an option (i.e. checkbox/select field) to allow users...

Re: All posts from a certain topic on one page?

I saw this on a modded phpBB board and I thought it was very useful. There were still links to each page of the topic but in the end there was a link to display all the posts on one page. Will this be a feature of Olympus? You have an answer there in your question :D :D If it would not be a feature...

Re: Forked

If I was to take a copy from the CVS and work through it fixing all the bugs I could find, would the PHPBB team appreciate it? you could however, still make said patches available to the newly created forked versions - that way they would at least be preserved, and even if the actual patches are pr...

Re: Either abandom or do something!!

Oh no more excuses.....there hasn't been any type of major....let alone medium commit to the log in almost 2 weeks. As in the world of games, phpbb is becoming Duke Noken Forever in the world of forums. Abandon the whole project I say.....or do something. You must have the time to change at least o...

Re: MySQLi?

I just got WAMP the other day, and it allows me to develop things and to switch between PHP4 and PHP5. However, the only MySQL version it comes with is MySQLi. I have tried installing phpBB3, and older version of IPB and vB RC2 with no success. All of the forum systems give me an error similar to: ...

Re: Forked

PEAR would be for...? phpBB doesn't use it and I'll doubt it will be used since if the devs would want to use PEAR they would be using it already. IMO phpBB trys to be as independant from other code as possible. I was merely giving some food for thought, however I didn't mention PEAR for no reason:...

psoTFX, you mentioned already a couple of times that you made negative experiences concerning contributions that ultimately didn't materialize the way that you had envisioned. Well, I am quite sure you'll consider the following lines as "premature", however I'd love to get some feedback about how yo...

Re: Forked

Even more interesting: they seem to be using the unstable code from CVS for their forum ... However, I think that fork is a direct reaction to the recently pretty frequently perceived lack of responsiveness by the phpBB Team concerning support/ coding offers by dozens of regular phpBB users/MODders ...
