Re: Documenting the phpBB2.1 code

To be perfectly honest ... I'm not overjoyed at others "documenting" the code in some near official way (certainly at this time). As noted, we are using docbook (well phpdocumentor) to introduce appropriate class/method/function documentation within the code. As we near release the dev, doc and Mod...

Re: What is left to be done?

It's probably the same reason why most people ask many questions when they're purchasing a car - it's not a matter of being able to "figure it out" one day, it's a matter of easily obtaining that information right in the beginning of their purchase, also depending on the type of "customer", most ma...

Re: question

You say competition. phpbb surely isn't competing with anyone as it is free software? I agree, that word should have been put in quotation marks, phpBB is certainly not actively "competing", however from a user ("customer") point of view, it surely does compete with its commercial counterparts - at...

Re: question

[...] I have installed the development board and I can tell you there is no real difference between it and the regular 2.0.15.[...] I strongly disagree with the above statement and think that you truly must have missed a lot of details, even without looking at the code it should be pretty obvious t...

Re: What is left to be done?

Hmm interesting thought. Why download the CVS when the devs can tell me what to expect in it? Why ask the devs what to expect when I'm going to have a copy and see things for myself? :-) It's probably the same reason why most people ask many questions when they're purchasing a car - it's not a matt...

is this the right forum for this?

No - at least not YET, so this applies to the upcoming version of phpBB3 (Olympus) - make sure to use the search function ("EasyMOD" & "Olympus") - you'll find various useful threads.

Re: "feature not working" reports

BioALIEN: yes, of course it's not recommended to try to publish your findings here, where the very ambitious "phpBB thread locking team" will immediately spot your attempt to violate forum rules and act upon it accordingly ;-) The whole point is, if you feel compelled to make notes of what needs fix...

Re: "feature not working" reports

thx, everyone, but the question was whether the developers are interested, (i got the message loud and clear) and not what I can do "to get it off my chest". i was merely offering (i thought) my help, not seeking comfort... (no offense to anyone intended). you seem to be getting something wrong: wh...

Re: "feature not working" reports

this is not a support request, so hold your horses, please.... are the developers interested in receiving problem reports from the people running the cvs version? the idea is to just throw a short line saying "feature X does not work as expected: i did Y and Z happened", which the developers can to...
