Well, then welcome to the club - and be careful: you'll need to be able to keep up a very high level of "trollism" - there's simply too much competition over here

Re: Is phpBB 3 object oriented?

Don't worry, I have a pretty good grasp on PHP and OOP. The reason why I don't look into phpBB's code more indepthly is because I don't want to develop 'bad' coding standards. I'm not saying phpBB's code is bad, but if I start to look a lot at phpBB's code, I will start to do things in a similar wa...

Re: custom profile fields in olympus?

Yes - The gender and blog fields in your profile here are custom profile fields. thanks for the response. those custom profile fields are setup so that the administrator can add/edit/delete those fields through the admin interface? SEARCH: "custom", "profile", "profiles", "fields" - extremely enlig...

How James Bond of you.
Use the search function and look for "style", "template", "release" etc. - you'll find various threads that state several reasons for this caution.

Re: Will phpbb3 be like this board?

Implementing the new style late might not be a good idea though. Imagine the whole package has gone gold, except for the template which has been untested... I'm afraid the template might be buggy. Don't be too afraid though ... it's not so much about implementing the template late, it's more about ...

Re: Forum function question

Well, hard to say, but: I wonder if Olympus has the following feature available: when an admin or moderator visit a topic, to close it automatically with a predefined message when they leave the topic page :) That's how I understood it: You want certain threads to be optionally closed (=locked ?) au...

Re: Forum function question

I think Graham could tell us more about this feature... Oh. I get it. Perhaps you should follow your own advice to "be more original". Or perhaps just "be funny". That would work too. Alternatively, "zapps" -being the thread-starter of this thread- could also easily lock his own threads by himself,...

Re: Documenting the phpBB2.1 code

Paul, Graham, et al - just so you know, I plan on translating lemontea's documentation into Klingon. I don't know any of the Klingon language yet, but figured that it would be a great way of learning it. ;) Feel free to contact me if you need any help, I think it's really sort of racism to o...
