What do you mean exactly by "Search engine friendly". I think some search engines will not index URLs consisting of lots of GET variables (dynamic URLs). However, that's just the way PHP works, so the only way around that is to use your web server to allow the forum to be accessed through ...

Having to ban IP-ranges for individual bots is something I'd put that under the heading "Last resorts". The robotos.txt is one that is going to keep a lot of bots away already.

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but a "heavy" board (i.e. a bunch of extra features) is mainly going to put on load on the server, not on the client. The connection speed between the server and the client isn't all that relevant, unless you count the one or two extra icons that the new feat...

I doubt it. There's MODs for 2.0 though (topics anywhere), so I expect them to reappear for 2.2 as well.

So you can see what threads you have read immediately after reading them (not having to go back to the main index and then clicking on the forum again). This way you can read, and then go back to the forum with all the thread listings instead of the main "Board Index". :? Sorry, I don't u...
