Re: New Karma System (Theory)

I did read all of it, but didn't understand everything. It's hard to understand something like this from just equations; the textual explanation didn't have enough clues to understand the meaning of the terms you are using (i.e. Karma Weight, Karma Rating). Also... your equations aren't equations......

Re: MCP: moderator queue

Yes, well, approval is very nice, but as I said, what about posts that do not require approval? What I am looking for is a feature that will show me only posts that have not been viewed by any moderator [while they are in plain view for all regular users of the forum, that is]. This would seem like ...

Didn't anyone download and install the CVS version that can tell me this?

MCP: moderator queue

Hi all, Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find any reference to it. Apparently, there will be a moderator queue in the MCP, but how will this work exactly? Will it only be there for forums that need posts to be approved by a moderator before they will be posted, or will it be a...

Re: phpBB 2.2, top features

Some people still seem to be thinking this is about their wish list of what they want to be in the new version. Just as a reminder, it is about what is going to be in the new version that you like most. For me it's gotta be: - server-side post read tracking (mostly for myself as a moderator, so I do...

Depends on how well the behaviour is defined in the specification whether it is a bug or a "difference of inperpretation" of the standard.

Re: [Slightly OT] Bug for Phpbb in konqueror

These things are sometimes just the result of difference of interpretation of the standard between browser vendors. And often, it is the webdevelopers who have to find a way to get what they want on different browsers. Especially if it is a company like MS who is not doing things according to the st...

Re: admin panel

Slightly OT, but the current way I can more or less the same effect is to have a separate Administrator account, and another more regular moderator account for the day-to-day stuff. I do use two browsers for this; regular stuff I do through Firefox, admin stuff I do through IE. Just to not screw up ...

Re: Question about uprading to Olympus.

So you guy are sugesting that i leave the database alone, delete 2.0.X from the server, install 3.0 and everything will be god to go? You left out running the upgrade script that will migrate your 2.0.x database to the 3.0 structure (but this is probably just an option in the installation procedure...

Re: phpBB 2.2, top features

it would be easier to offer the new style with the first beta? or wouldnt' it? In addition to what Graham is saying, it makes absolutely no difference, because it is just looks. The "API", if you will, will not change, so you can happily develop your own theme by building on whatever is supplied wi...
