Re: phpBB 3.2.0-a1 released

Nicofuma wrote: Thu Dec 17, 2015 2:31 pm Did you set your environment to development? (@define('PHPBB_ENVIRONMENT', 'development') in your config.php file)
No - I did not know about that.

However when I do set it I get
The requested environment development is not available.

Re: phpBB 3.2.0-a1 released

One thing that I have noticed with 3.2 is that when developing extensions I find that I have to delete the cache files far more often than I did with 3.1

In the 3.1 I could edit almost any file and it would take effect immediately, now with 3.2 whenever I change anything it does not take effect ...

Re: phpBB 3.2.0-a1 released

It's often related to your services configuration. If it's the case you can have the real error by removing the try/catch in common.php. That's something I'm planning to do automatically when debug is on but I didn't found the time yet

It was indeed due to a "bad" services configuration and once ...

Re: phpBB 3.2.0-a1 released

Not sure as to whether this is a bug report as I cannot seem to pin down why/how this is happening.

I was "playing around" with some extensions on my 3.2 test board and was repeatedly deleting the cache (production) and carried on without any problems. Then all of a sudden when I deleted the cache ...

That seems to start it off - but mine gave up when it said it could not delete files (not had time to look into it further)

you are saying it is outrageous that the FIRST ALPHA is breaking something
No I am not - I said
My own experience is that many 3.1 extensions (not only mine but others that I have looked at) are not compatible with 3.2.
and this is due to core changes not bugs or any other issue - if you want I ...

Re: phpBB 3.2.0-a1 released

Thanks Rich for saying what I have been coming round to thinking for the last couple of days and what most extension developers will think once they become aware of the situation.

One of the big "selling points" of 3.1 was that of extensions and that they would, in most cases, be compatible with ...
