Some like to hit the 'view new posts' as soon as they enter this forum and see whats going on. [RFC] stands out in the search results from the rest of conversations that might not be too interesting.

I don't think I like how the entire section appears to be clickable including the avatar while hovering but I guess that's for another topic.

Quick OT: I don't recall a user of my forum ever getting confused with "UCP" as link name to account settings. I've even once used just an 16x16 cogwheel icon-- big hint in img alt title.

Haven't seen those lines on any of my boards since phpbb2.0.11 and I think it's enough to just remove em if one wants to.

+1 guess it doesn't matter. most ppl change the defualt anwyay, others do not and probably cus it doesn't matter to them either.

+1 have been using a MOD that handles this for a while now. Never had a problem with it even if I allowed members to change name... -1 What if you linked to a user's profile and later that user changes his/her username? That link would be useless... It would be useless but then again, profile links ...

One way I've done for 3.0.11 is show simply "Inbox" on the header. Then when there is a messages or more 'inbox' turns into 1 new message or 2 new messages . then soon as i enter ucp.php?i=pm&folder=inbox page, it reads message/s unread: 1 and it will stay that way till that message or...
