Re: beta 1 and now
beta is usually feature-complete and pretty buggy. RC1,2,etc. are release candidate 1 or two or whatever. they are the next step pas the beta phases and are as you would expect, all issues have been identified and resolved (at least all major issues, and as many as are known minor issues are ...

Re: Hotlinking Protection
Yes, but I thought that with the new system, images may be uploaded directly into phpBB3 instead of the usual path in the HTML area of my server.
And being a part of php I thought other people might not be able to hotlink to it.
If you know what I mean?
For performance reasons, it's much ...

Re: Database Question
They only confirmed MOD that will be supported by the upgrade script is the Attachment MOD. However, the DEVs have left the option open that they might convert a couple of the more popular that simply add additional columns to the table structure. That said, active and responsible MOD Authors will ...

Which are orange? Daltonists are even more numerous than blinds.
The option for the Administrator to manually approve the user (via email or a form) is always there. No possible way of significantly preventing automation without having to hand-hold some people for whatever reasons. Should be ...

Re: Visual Confirmation
I do not really think changing the form field names will do much against bots, as the order of fields as well as the exact text in the language packs and the general layout of the html could be used by the bot to determine which field is which.
I do think however that the CAPTCHA needs improving ...

Re: firefox support for writing topics/replays
I echo the above, the only bugs I see with the BBCode javascript in Firefox right now is highlighting text to change the colour or size places the BBCode to the left of the text rather than encapsulating it.

Re: It's getting crazy :(
Olympus uses the same so far, but we haven't even reached a Beta yet, so I'm guessing it can be subject to change.

Re: Migrating from 2.X to Olympus
Yep, sorry, I saw some references to "no support until 2.2.0" and got caught on
that.
AFAIK, I've seen it here, the Converter is ready, we just need that simple
upgrade.php file released. It's one file, nothing big, but it assists with the
future development of phpBB in to 2.2.0 and beyond by ...

Re: I miss Skype in phpbb3
I could be wrong, but I'm not sure the phpBB Jabber class will work with Google Talk. Google uses TLS, and from what I remember of the Jabber class phpBB's was based on, there were problems getting it to TLS servers. That was a while ago though, so I might not be up with the times.
