actually, I'm basing my occupation of phpBB. I never really had a ambition for any job so to say, and when I started modding phpBB I got interested in the WWW. that's why I'm coursing through a webmaster education ...

Many boards actually give a default rank to newcomers who have less than 10 posts, called "Newbie"
some board softwares even have that as default in the install- meaning you don't have to create it.
still, karlsemple was quite right, sometimes it seems the 'noob' just doesn't want to see the ...

afaik vBulletin supports it. no one uses it though, after a while you get confused, and afaik it uses way more resources then a topic based way. but then, it depends on how it is used..

just open up internet explorer and go to ftp.yourdomain.extension . then upload the new config file to your /forum or phpBB/ or phpbb/ or forums/ directory
