Check your server error log to see what caused it. If you are using IE, go to Tools -> Options and uncheck the show friendly error pages to see if you see any details.

phpBB has a search engine built in that doesn't rely on MySQL. Use the one your host provides since they all should work equally well.

I don't think it would take too much to spit out the invalid username so you might want to file this as a bug since it would help usability if you enter a long list so you know exactly what name is invalid.

What makes you so sure theFinn isn't active? Maybe he sits on the top of Mount Olympus and liberally throws lighting bolts (and SHS`!) at us when things aren't going like he wants? and
